John 2015 National Alzheimers Advocate

This photo is from 2015 when my husband, John, was a National Advocate for the Alzheimer’s Association, and I was an Advocate for Caregivers. I learned much about the disease then. My husband’s Alzheimer’s disease continues to take him. He’s now receiving hospice care.

It would be so easy for me to just curl up and cry. That simply is not me! I needed to find some way up and out of depression. Does this sounds familiar to you? Perhaps together we can learn some ways to grow from these terrible, painful situations and experiences.
